BSc(Hons) Conservation Biology & Ecology Graduate

Charlotte is a scientifically literate and numerate Biology graduate with a particular interest in environmental education. She has held numerous voluntary positions for organisations such as Cornwall Wildlife Trust, Conservation Volunteers of Australia and Falmouth Secondary School carrying out conservation and education in youth groups. From her extra-curricular efforts she has gained the universities Exeter Award and Leaders Award in recognition of her voluntary efforts and achievements in helping to organise a careers day event. She is committed to a career in education and has held many positions of responsibility in education and outreach to gain skills and experience relevant to this goal. She decided to further familiarise herself with educational environments by undertaking a voluntary classroom assistant position. This experience has better prepared her for work in the environmental educational field. After graduating, Charlotte began a role at the London Aquarium as a guest experience assistant, working with the education departments to promote marine conservation. After working part-time for environmentally aware and ethically sourced cosmetic company Lush, she began a position as Assistant Director for Explore Learning. Explore Learning aims to provide affordable after school tuition for children aged 5-14 years in numeracy and literacy skills. Charlotte aims to be trained to teach at a curriculum approved level and better understand how best to educate and inspire young people.
